ASTYM Therapy
The ASTYM system is an evidence-based rehabilitation process designed to effectively treat chronic tendon disorders, scar tissue and fibrosis. The goal of the ASTYM treatment is to stimulate the body’s healing response, resulting in the resorption and remodeling of scar tissue and the regeneration of degenerative tendons. This effective therapy incorporates a customized program of stretching and exercise, which positively influences the alignment of the new collagen.

Ready—Set—Steady (FREE Balance Screens) - Don’t let a fall decrease your quality of life
Northern Rehab provides free balance screens to determine an individual’s risk of falling, as part of thir new Ready--Set----Steady program.  The program was created to potentially prolong independence and improve the quality of lives of those who are at risk for a fall.  “The US Department of Health and Human Services reported that falls were one of the top three causes of accidental death among the elderly and that falls represent the second greatest source of economic loss due to injuries in the United States.  We are committed to helping people, improve their quality of life, stay independent longer and simply avoid a costly accident,” says Doug Yarboro, PT.

Anyone interested can stop by the clinic at any time, during the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no appointment necessary.  The free screen takes less than 20 minutes and the results will be reviewed with the individual and their family physician to determine if the full program would be beneficial.  The complete Ready-Set-Steady program for balance and fall prevention has five components. 1) Screen individuals to determine fall risks 2) Uncover the cause of the altered balance 3) Promptly address the cause to increase balance and safety 4) Educate the individual on prevention strategies and environmental risk factors in the home 5) Teach the individual a home maintenance program to ensure continued safety.

Post-Offer (Pre-Hire) Functional Screening - Remarkable Return On Investment
Most strain and sprain injuries occur because workers are not physically capable of the work they were hired to perform. Hiring workers who can perform the physical demands of the job with certainty is the best injury prevention money can buy. In fact, a recently published study projected savings of $18 for every dollar spent on post-offer screens! It’s hard to beat that kind of return on investment.  Give us a call to see how we can help with your hiring decisions.
